Each year the MBA program seeks to enroll men and women who represent a wide range
of academic and professional backgrounds. In reviewing applications, the Graduate
Committee members are guided by several criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree, 3.0 GPA recommended
- GMAT, score of 600 recommended. Alternatively, a
GRE score can be considered. Applicants to the MBA program who hold an MD, or are currently
enrolled in medical school, do not have to submit GMAT or GRE scores. MBA applicants who
have a PhD are required to submit GMAT or GRE scores, but the test does not have to have been
taken within the last five years.
- Relevant work experience, two years recommended
- Three letters of “Recommendation for Graduate Admission”
- Professional Resume
International applicants must score at least 550 (213 computer-based) or 80 iBT
on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of 6.5 is required on
the IELTS English proficiency test.

Prerequisites must be completed no later than within the first semester of the MBA program with a
grade of C or better. Students cannot take GRBA811, 812 or 851 until the pre-requisites are satisfactorily completed.
- Calculus – MATH104 or MATH106 or equivalent course
- Statistics – ECON215 or STAT218 or equivalent course
For students who are not in Lincoln, equivalent courses can be taken at a college or university in
your local area. Refer to
UNL's transfer equivalency website to make sure
the courses have been evaluated
as being equivalent to the UNL courses indicated above.
Office of Graduate Studies - Requirements
- Apply online at
the Office of Graduate Studies and submit the $50 application fee.
- Have your undergraduate institution send one transcript to
1100 Seaton Hall

- Please note: All application materials (except transcripts and finance
resource certification) must be submitted electronically. Do not send paper recommendation
forms or resume.
As part of the admission process, you are required to submit an unofficial transcript from
each post-secondary institution you have attended which lists courses completed, grades earned,
as well as degrees conferred.
To submit your transcript you will upload an electronic or scanned copy of them to MyRed.

processing of your application.
Once admitted, you will be required to submit an official transcript that is sent directly

Recommendation for Graduate Admission
Three letters of reference are required and should be submitted through

who are licensed to practice medicine in the U.S., or are currently enrolled in medical school.

Deadlines for the MBA Program
For priority consideration, your application packet (including GMAT scores), should be submitted by
the following deadlines:
To be fully considered for a fellowship: April 1 /
Otherwise: July 1
Applications will continue to be accepted after these dates, but there is no guarantee that they will be processed in time for the semester indicated.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Once admitted, you can start in the next available
term. In order to allow adequate processing time, your completed application packet should be
submitted 45 days prior to the beginning of the term in which you hope to begin coursework.
Assistantship and Fellowship Deadline
To be considered for an
assistantship or fellowhip, all MBA application materials should be received
by April 1.
